The Photography Show presented by AIPAD: A Recap

Man Ray (1890-1976), Femme aux longs cheveux (Woman with long hair), Gelatin silver print, printed c. 1960

The AIPAD Talks were inspiring and provided more opportunities to meet enthusiasts of the photographic community. Here are some of my favorite picks in random order, but one stand out for personal reasons, it was presented by Michael Hoppen Gallery. When the image by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Rue Mouffetard, Paris 1954 is without doubt one of his most famous images, this particular print is to our knowledge the only vintage one in existence. It was gifted by Cartier-Bresson to Slim Aarons. Slim re-baptized Cartier-Bresson when he came to the United States, finding his name quite impossible to pronounce here. Well, Henri’s new name beacame Hank Carter and this is how he signed this print to his friend. Truly one of a kind on many levels.
