ART BASEL MIAMI 2025 | Highlighting Lens-based Work in Meridians

Bruce Silverstein Gallery is presenting a special exhibition in honor of the highly-sought-after curator David Anfam (1955-2024). His internationally acclaimed exhibitions showcased the resonant influence of photography within the Abstract Expressionist movement. This particular selection of works is a tribute to Anfam’s desire to compile an exhibition solely dedicated to photography in Abstract Expressionism. At the heart of this presentation is the work of Aaron Siskind, whom Anfam favored and featured in his exhibition at the Royal Academy in the United Kingdom. In “Chicago 22,” Siskin mounts the work of art into a stretcher. Representing the rest of the pioneers of Abstract Expressionist photography are the works of Herbert Matter, Frederick Sommer and Man Ray.
