For Art Basel 45 Bruce Silverstein Gallery would be pleased to present an exhibition featuring rare, vintage prints by André Kertész created during his years in Paris from 1925-1936, including: The Stairs of Montmartre, 1926; Chez Mondrian, 1926; Notre Dame at Night, 1930; Fork, 1928; and Chairs, Medici Fountain, 1925.
It was during his years in Paris that Kertész produced some of his best-known works. Revered as a master of Modernism, he employed radically oblique camera angles creating graphic compositions that defined his unique pictorial style. Kertész was widely respected throughout his lifetime and since his death, his work has been included in numerous retrospective exhibitions at institutions around the world. Bruce Silverstein Gallery is a representative of the André Kertész Estate and would be honored to share these works with the public at Art Basel.
